---- — The Darcy Library has received several grants to expand services for library patrons.
A grant from the Robert Reinhardt Trust in Midland will be used to purchase video recording equipment including a high definition camera for recording public programs.
A Carnegie Whitney Grant will be used for development of a comprehensive bibliography of the Helen Tanner American Indian History Collection, located at the Darcy Library.
Gifts in honor of Dan and Janet Schoonmaker (board member and volunteers) enabled the library to install a new office work station. Another private contribution was received for purchase of a new color copier.
Art Rapids! has awarded grants totaling $4,000 for 2012-13.
Grant recipients include: Elk Rapids High School, Cherryland Middle School, Elk Rapids High School Zero Hour Jazz Lab, local artist/educator Patricia Innis and Walk of Art.

The Dennos Museum Center at Northwestern Michigan College has received grants from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs and the National Endowment for the Arts.
The MCACA grant will be used primarily to support upcoming exhibition, concert and educational programming.
The NEA Challenge America Fast-Track grant will support the "Modern Twist: Contemporary Japanese Bamboo Art" exhibit that opens Feb. 22 at the museum.
