TC West swimmers win all 12 events

Titans' Cox wins diving, qualifies for regionals

TRAVERSE CITY -- If this was a tune-up, consider Traverse City West ready for the Coastal Swim Conference meet.

The Titans won all 12 events and finished 6-0 in league duals with a 120-66 victory over Ludington on Monday night.

The highlight of the wins was Kendall Cox taking the diving competition with 170.5 points. Her fifth victory this season qualified Cox for the regional diving meet.

Winning relays for West were Elly Maleski, Erin Holstad, Amy Brunner and Kate Reed in the 200 medley (1:57.97); Amy Brunner, Sarah Brunner, Shelby Newhouse and Reed in the 200 freestyle (1:48.43); Newhouse, Holstad, Malesky and Kirsten Palmer in the 400 freestyle (4:00.58).

Maleski and the Brunner sisters each won two individual events.

Maleski won the 100 freestyle (57.58) and 100 backstroke (1:04.5); Amy Brunner the 200 freestyle (2:11.92) and 100 breaststroke (1:18.59); Sarah Brunner the 50 freestyle (26.74) and 100 butterfly (1:04.08).

Holstad also won the 200 individual medley (1:20.01) and Newhouse the 500 freestyle (5:59.82).
