Lack of communication
I am alarmed by the lack of transparency, i.e., communication from the office of Ray Franz, representative of the 101st Congressional District, State of Michigan. After writing two formal letters and one email requesting information about his schedule for town hall meetings, with no response, I called Mr. Franz’s office on Thursday, Feb. 28. The person answering the phone indicated he would have the scheduler contact me, re: town hall meetings. As of today, I have heard nothing from the “scheduler.”
I asked if Mr. Franz has a position statement concerning global warming/climate change. “I am not aware of one,” was the answer. Whatever the issue, Mr. Franz seems unwilling to communicate with his constituents or publish his stand on important issues. I urge Mr. Franz to communicate with the voters in the 101st District. We deserve better.

Check for cattle crossing
It is sad to learn of the demise of the Gallagher farm dairy operation. I will always remember the herd for crossing Long Lake Road and stopping President Ford’s motorcade in 1975. The president was in town for the Cherry Festival. I imagine that a “Check for cattle crossing” was then added to the Secret Service check list.
