BOYNE CITY -- Harbor Springs won both the boys and girls titles at the Lake Michigan Conference championships, hosted by Boyne City.
The Rams' boys held off Traverse City St. Francis for the crown, scoring 163 points to the Gladiators' 147. Charlevoix was third with 115.5, followed by Boyne City (66), Grayling (50), Kalkaska (41.5), Elk Rapids (37) and East Jordan (24).
Harbor's girls won with 155.5 points, 19 ahead of runner-up Charlevoix. St. Francis was third with 113.5, followed by Elk Rapids (66), Grayling (53.5), Boyne City (48), Kalkaska (47) and East Jordan (15).
Marc Kanitz, Ryan Farley and Ben Swan each won two events for the Gladiators.
Kanitz claimed the 400 in 51.76 seconds and Farley won the pole vault by clearing 12'6".
Swan was part of two winning relays teams, joining Kanitz, Ben Schell and Grant Robb on the first-place 800 squad (1:36.1) and Farley, Jay Morse and Taylor Hennrick on the winning 400 team (45.18).
The 3,200 relay team of James Alpers, Ricky Woods, John Zakrzewski and Corey Williams won in 8:41.3.
Brady Mikula won the long jump with a leap of 19'91/4".
For the St. Francis girls, Hahhan Meachum won two events, claiming first in both the 100 hurdles (16.01) and pole vault (10'6").
McKaely Ludka won the 300 hurdles (50.51) and Morgan McCardel was tops in the 1,600 in 5:23.44.
Kalkaska's Amanda Flanigan won the shot put (31'6"0) and was second in the discus (81'5").
