SAULT STE. MARIE -- Traverse City Central kicked off the track season on a high note, winning the nine-team Lake Superior State Indoor Invitational.
The Trojans finished the event with 141 points, well ahead of runner-up Marquette (90). Gaylord was third at 75 and Charlevoix finished fifth.
Tyler Clark won three events, including the 55-meter dash and 200.
Clark's school-record 6.67 time in the 55 topped the field, and teammate Phothivath Phengkamkip was second.
Clark claimed the 200 in 23.48 seconds and was part of the winning 800 relay team along with Phengkamkip, Sem Novikov and Derrick Rudolph.
Tyler Kelly won the 800 in 2:11 and was part of the first-place 3600 relay team along with Drew Dancer, Ryen Keenan and Nick Bruning.
TC Central took the top four spots in the shot put, with James Barbera's 46'1" heave winning, followed by Nick Krajenka (45'2"), Casey Challender (44'7.5") and Nick Alpers (43'10.5").

Traverse City Central opened the season with a 7-5 victory over Howell in eight innings.
Zach Zoellner, Collin Casey and Chris Roop combined to strike out 10 in the game, with Roop picking up the win in relief.
Kyle Coggin had a double and three runs, Roop had three hits and Casey two.

TC St. Francis 3
Casey Shoaff's bases-loaded walk in the seventh inning gave Kingsley a 4-3 victory over Traverse City St. Francis to open the baseball season.
Bill Wismer picked up the win with an inning of relief work, and Cody Garey didn't allow an earned run in six frames, giving up four hits.
Austin Alexander had an RBI triple for the Stags, Jake Lidak singled in a run and Jack Ocobock added a double.
RUGBY
Alliance 38
Rockford 0
The Traverse City Area Alliance defeated Rockford 38-0, setting up an April 8 match with defending state champion West Ottawa at the Civic Center on April 8.
Scott Grant scored two tries for the Alliance and Jorge Cuervo made four coversions for eight points.
Gabe Gallagher, Kyle Gallagher, Matt Hays and Sam Yancho each had one try.
Gabe Gallagher was selected as the game's top back, while Yancho earned the honor for the forwards.
