ASPEN, Colo. — Nikolai M. Valdmanis and Kate M. Rasmussen exchanged marriage vows on Dec. 28, 2012, in Aspen.
Among the witnesses for the couple were Traverse City natives Barbara Weber, Tim Emling and Mark Williams. Following the ceremony, friends and co-workers helped create a fun-loving atmosphere and the newlyweds spent the rest of their wedding day skiing on Aspen Mountain. A moment in the daylong celebration was captured and published by the Aspen Times newspaper.
Kate is the daughter of William T. Rasmussen and Christine Walton, both of Traverse City. She graduated from Traverse City Central High School, attended FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising) in Los Angeles and Loyola University in Chicago. Kate is employed by Kemo Sabe in Aspen.
Nikolai is the son of Andris and Donna Valdmanis of Traverse City. He graduated from Traverse City Central High School and received a degree in Hospitality Business from Michigan State University. Nikolai is employed by Aspen Skiing Company at The Limelight Hotel, and also at Gisella Aspen.
The couple are planning a Traverse City party in the near future.
