TRAVERSE CITY — Allyson Bowes Rivard and Christopher Phillip Siemer of Traverse City exchanged marriage vows June 8, 2012, at The Hagerty Center. Dr. Vanessa McCaffery performed the 4 p.m. ceremony.
Spencer Franchi of Troy, Mich., attended as Allyson's friend and maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the groom's sister, Jane Scott of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jessica Elliott of Traverse City, Bethany Page of Grand Rapids, and Samantha Yackel of Saginaw. Allyson's cousin, Asha Chowanic of Farmington Hills, was the flower girl.
Kyle Siemer of Traverse City was Chris' best man. Groomsmen were the bride's brother, Justin Rivard, the groom's brother, Trevor Scott of New Orleans, Forrest Page of Grand Rapids, and Adam Schwartz of Traverse City. Gibson Page carried the rings.
A reception was hosted at The Hagerty Center immediately following the ceremony. The newlyweds honeymooned in Chicago and currently are living in Ypsilanti.
Allyson is the daughter of Dr. Sean and Kristen Rivard of Traverse City. She graduated from Albion College with a bachelor of arts degree in biology and psychology. Allyson currently is working for a veterinary hospital in Ann Arbor.
Chris is the son of Kristi Siemer of Traverse City and Dr. Phillip Siemer and Alice Montie of Suttons Bay. He graduated from Grand Valley State University with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical science. Chris currently is working as a scientist and is the co-founder of a biotech company in Plymouth, Mich.
Both Ally and Chris will start Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in June 2013.
