CADILLAC — Cadillac rallied to beat Benzie Central 51-36 Tuesday night in a non-conference season girls basketball opener.
The Vikings trailed 21-20 at half, but used pressure defense to turn it around.
Selena Golnick scored 11 points to lead Cadillac. Jordan Nye's nine points, five blocks and four assists paced Benzie. Paige Sauer and Mariah Hanson added eight points apiece for the Huskies, who face Kalkaska in a Northwest Conference-Lake Michigan Conference crossover game Saturday at Kingsley.
Buckley 49 Northport 24
Bailee Kuhn's 21 points sparked Buckley to a 49-24 season-opening win over Northport.
The Bears led 16-0 after the first quarter.
Hannah Baldinger added nine points, eight steals and six rebounds for Buckley, which faces Harbor Springs on Saturday at Kingsley.
Mariah Kalchik's eight points topped Northport.
Charlevoix 63 Ellsworth 33
Madeline Boss led a balanced attack with 15 points, nine rebounds, three steals and two blocks as Charlevoix posted a season-opening 63-33 non-league win over Ellsworth.
Gabby Gray chipped in 12 points, Sydney Carlson 11 and Kelsey Engstrom 10 for the Rayders, who take on Frankfort in a Lake Michigan Conference-Northwest Conference crossover game Friday at Kingsley.
Kari Steenwyk netted 11 points and Tara Essenburg 10 for Ellsworth.
Johannesburg 69 Fairview 26
Abby Schlicher and Brittany Cherwinski sparked Johannesburg-Lewiston to a 69-26 non-league win over Fairview.
Schlicher finished with 17 points, five rebounds and three steals. Cherwinski added 15 points, five steals and four rebounds.
Madison Showerman chipped in eight points and eight rebounds while Hannah Huff contributed nine rebounds.
Logan Winton's 10 points paced Fairview.
Brethren 42 Manton 38
Anne McNiel tossed in 14 points as Brethren opened with a 42-38 win over Manton.
Karrah Baker scored nine points for Manton.
