The La-Tea-Da High Tea generated $14,000 for Leelanau County cancer patients and their families.
The fundraiser was held at Field of Flowers Farm in Lake Leelanau and attracted more than 140 participants. Money raised from the tea will be distributed by the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation to help Munson Medical Center cancer patients from Leelanau County who need financial assistance with basic necessities such as gas, food, medications and utilities.
The fundraiser's organizing team included Bruce Polizotto, Charlie Bumb, and Anita Risbridger, all of Cedar; Sue Olenzak and Dee Glass, both of Leland; Janet Send and Thomas and Diane Pare, all of Suttons Bay; Pauline Nielsen and Rick and Kathy Scanlon, all of Northport; and Joan Hook of Maple City.

Breathe, conceive? Workshop aimed at couples wanting to get pregnant
A yoga workshop is planned for women who want to be pregnant. Yoga instructor Aimee Meeker will lead a special workshop centered on fertility from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12 at Yen Yoga & Fitness. Meeker decided to offer the workshop to gauge community interest. If response warrants, the workshop could develop into a regular class offering.
