TRAVERSE CITY — The season didn't start the way the Traverse City Wolves intended.
The Lakeshore Cougars traveled to Thirlby Field and posted a 29-18 victory over the Wolves Saturday in the Great Midwest Football League opener.
Lakeshore jumped out to an 8-4 advantage at the half and didn't look back.
The offense for the Wolves (0-1) included two safeties, two field goals and a touchdown.
The Cougars amassed 255 yards of total offense while the Wolves were held to -15.
Up next for TC is a trip to the Southwest Michigan Punishers next weekend.
