TRAVERSE CITY — Five turnovers and Traverse City was on the wrong side of the outcome Saturday.
The Wolves suffered their first loss of the season Saturday as the Indianapolis Tornados handed them a 34-11 setback at Thirlby Field.
Traverse City (4-1) had four fumbles and an interception.
Quarterback Aaron James was 5-for-18 passing for 75 yards. He did hit receiver Josh Tomaszewski on a 15-yard touchdown pass late in the game. Nick Carlson then caught a two-point conversion to finalize the 34-11 score.
As a team, the Wolves ran 27 times for 203 yards. B.J. Chandler had 11 carries for 72 yards while Justin Gordon ran 10 times for 61 yards.
Defensively, Karey Morrow had eight tackles for the Wolves while Tyler Alpers, Ryan Brown, Jay Peitsch and Brandon Anderson each had six. Anderson played both ways and also had two sacks.
Traverse City will look to rebound next week at home against the Michigan Vikings.
