Good start for the Traverse City Wolves.
Quarterback Aaron James completed 14 of 23 passes for 202 yards and two touchdowns and B.J. Chandler rushed for 81 yards as the Wolves defeated the Capital City Stealth 40-17 in a North American Football League game Saturday night.
The Wolves struck quickly, scoring on their first possession when Brandon Anderson went in from 3 yards out. That score was setup by a James to Michael Stagg 42-yard pass.
The Wolves added another touchdown shortly after when Darnell Wilson sacked the Capital City quarterback, forcing a fumble inside the Stealth 5-yard line. Matt Ohlert scooped it and took it in.
Traverse City broke it open in the second half.
Tyler Alpers led the defense with 11 tackles. Ohlert had eight as did Wilson, who also had two sacks and two forced fumbles. Jamarcus Martin caught five passes.

In the first quarter of Rick Micham's first game as head coach of the TC Wolves, the team's first two quarterbacks are knocked out with injuries and Micham has to turn to his All-Star kicker to go take snaps.
For most coaches, the situation may have come with a lot of stress. But most coaches don't have Pablo Bocardo.
"We would have very easily put him at that starting (quarterback) role, but as valuable as he is kicking the ball, that's huge for us," Micham said.
