Kingsley wrestlers open with two wins

Kingsley's wrestling team opened the season with wins over Traverse City St. Francis and the TC Central B team.

The Stags beat the Gladiators 56-21 and the Trojans 67-12. St. Francis beat TC Central 52-18.

Going 2-0 for Kingsley were Dallas Sanchez (112), Calvin Montgomery (125), Joe Leach (140), Austin Sanchez (145), Gabe Collins (152), Luke Szymshack (160), Luke Generaux (171) and heavyweight Tyler Croton.

TC Central's Justin Ray had a pair of pins at 119 pounds, Dylan Kelly had a pin at 145 pounds, Brenden Berger had a pin at 215 pounds while Vai Taula had a void win at heavyweight against St. Francis.

Arthur to wrestle for state title

Traverse City St. Francis Isaiah Schaub and Paul Britten will attempt to work their way back through the Division 4 consolation bracket on Saturday to wrestle for third place in their weight classes after semifinal losses Friday evening.
