BELLAIRE -- Traverse City St. Francis qualified for the state ski finals in both boys and girls with top-three finishes in Thursday's Division 2 regional at Shanty Creek.
Manistee ran away with the top girls spot, led by the trio of Kari Paine, Nathalie Kenny and Andrea Paine, while Cadillac claimed the boys title, edging out the Chippewas.
Kenny won the giant slalom, with Andrea Paine second and Kari Paine fourth, while Kari Paine won the slalom, Kenny was second and Andrea Paine fifth.
Glen Lake's Shannon McGovern was third in both.
The Chippewas finished with 46 points, with St. Francis (127) in second, Glen Lake third (130.5) and Cadillac fourth at 141.
In the boys race, Cadillac posted 91, followed by Manistee (109), St. Francis (123) and Grayling (135).
Glen Lake's Mike King was the slalom winner in 57.73 seconds, and also took the GS in 43.1 seconds.
Glen Lake's Jack Kerby-Miller took second in GS and third in slalom, while St. Francis was led by Stephen Siddall's performance.
Siddall took third in GS and fifth in slalom.
Cadillac was led by Carter Marsh, who was fifth in GS and runner-up in the slalom.
Manistee's Paul Swedenborg was fourth in each.
SKIING
Harbor Springs boys, Petoskey girls claim regional titles
Harbor Springs' boys won the Division 2 region at Boyne Highlands by a smidgen, but Iron Mountain got into the state finals by even less.
The Rams won overall despite not winning either the slalom or giant slalom, while Iron Mountain had to go to a tiebreaker with Petoskey for the third and final spot.
Harbor Springs finished with 93 points, just two ahead of Boyne City, while Petoskey and Iron Mountain tied with 97 each.
Petoskey won the girls' regional crown, with Harbor second and Houghton third.
Harbor's Drake Doherty won the GS with a combined time of 1:02.42, nine 10ths of a second ahead of runner-up Jon Manderfie of Houghton.
Petoskey's Brian Erhart was third and Boyne City's Mike Cortright was fourth.
Doherty also won the slalom in 1:27.51, over three seconds ahead of Cortright. Erhart was fifth.
Petoskey's Victoria McVicker won both the slalom and GS, each time besting Houghton's Samantha Henderson.
Northmen teammate Sarah Shafer was fourth in both disciplines, while Harbor's Andi Shepherd was fifth in slalom.
Petoskey won with a team total of 49, well ahead of the region's other two qualifiers -- Harbor (83.5) and Houghton (86.5).
GIRLS HOOPS
TC Central 67
Alpena 54
A career high from Katie Knudsen led Traverse City Central to a 67-54 Big North Conference win at Alpena.
Knudsen scored 36 points and also had six steals.
The Trojans (7-10, 4-4 BNC) had 10 points from Logan Core, eight points, four rebounds and four assists from Chandler Cobb, as well as six rebounds from Brianna Podsaid.
Central was up 15 at the half and took it to 30 in the third quarter before Alpena made a run to cut the deficit to 10 points.
In the JV game, Alpena won 54-44 despite 23 points from Olivia DeBortoli. Central's freshmen won 29-28.
Frankfort 51
Buckley 29
Frankfort went on a 32-8 run in the second half for a 51-29 Northwest Conference win over Buckley.
The Panthers (13-4, 10-1 NWC) trailed 21-19 at the break before Buckley got into foul trouble.
Emily Gray had 15 points for Frankfort while Sara Loney had nine points and 10 rebounds. Mindy Smith also had seven points, four steals and four assists.
Paige Gokey led Buckley with 17 points.
Benzie Central 61
Leland 26
Benzie Central jumped out to a quick start and earned a 61-26 Northwest Conference victory over Leland.
Taylor Nugent had 22 points for Benzie while Sara Thurkettle scored 14 and Haeley Melton had 12.
Tantzi Snyder led Leland with 12 points.
Glen Lake 75
Suttons Bay 41
Taylor Martin's 27 points led Glen Lake to a 75-41 Northwest Conference win over Suttons Bay.
Martin also had six rebounds, four steals and three assists.
Scotlyn Brengman had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers (10-6) while Paige Picard and Paige Stachnik each scored nine points.
Olivia Raftshol had 16 points for Suttons Bay.

Kingsley's Stephanie Berreth matched Mesick's output as the Stags downed the Bulldogs 60-21.
Berreth scored 21 points by herself, with Kim Berreth and Sam Zubalik adding 10 each. Erin Hamilton paced Mesick with six points and seven steals.

Gaylord St. Mary earned a 40-35 Ski Valley Conference win over Bellaire.
Karli Jacob paced St. Mary with 12 points.
Bellaire (9-8) had 11 points each from Mary Walsh and Sherri Smith.

Forest Area won its second game of the year with a 59-49 Ski Valley Conference victory over Mancelona.
The Warriors (2-12 SVC) led 31-22 at the break and 44-31 going into the fourth quarter.
Marissa Ingersoll had 25 points in the win while Kassie Magee notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Mancelona's Kayla Adkins had 13 points.

Allie Nave and Payton Lupu each had double-doubles as Onaway earned a 50-37 Ski Valley Conference win over Pellston.
Lupu led the Cardinals (10-7, 8-6 SVC) to their fifth straight win with 19 points and 16 rebounds while Nave had 15 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists.
Kristi Lewis had 15 points for Pellston.
TC Bulldogs 72
GT Academy 21
The Traverse City Bulldogs moed to 16-1 on the season with a 72-31 win over Grand Traverse Academy.
Ellisha Crosby led the Bulldogs with 32 points, 16 rebounds, five blocks and four assists. Sarah Morrison had 14 points while Kasey Acton had 12 points, six assists and six steals.

Jalyn Ingalls made senior night at Ellsworth a memorable one with a 61-19 victory over Wolverine.
Ingalls -- the only senior for the Lancers -- finished with 20 points and six rebounds.
Ellsworth (12-4) also had 11 points and four rebounds from Sarah Kearney.

Paul Bump scored 10 of his 16 points to help ignite a Traverse City Christian comeback win over Burt Lake Northern Michigan Christian Academy.
Bump ended with 16 points, six assists and five steals, while Jon Rudolph added 18 points and 10 rebounds and Jason Send contributed 14 points and six assists.
Aaron Chatfield had 18 points and 11 assists for Burt Lake (6-4), and David Thompson added 18 points.

Jared Larr led McBain to a comeback win over Manton, as the Ramblers erased a three-point halftime deficit in a 72-55 victory.
Larr scored 19 points for McBain and Logan Nemeth added 16.
Jasper Woodcock scored a game-high 20 points for Manton, and Cody Emery poured in 19.

Manistee Catholic went on a 16-5 run in the third quarter that spelled the difference in a 49-34 Western Michigan D League win over Onekama.
The Sabers (12-3, 9-2 WMDL) had 10 points each from Nathan Miller and Nick Kolanowski. Nick Doyle had eight points and 14 rebounds.

The St. Francis JV moved to 7-6 on the season with a 36-34 Lake Michigan Conference win over Boyne City.
Austin Currie led the Gladiators with 16 points.
WRESTLING
Onaway advances in Mancelona district
Onaway and Mancelona wrestled for the Division 4 district title, as the Cardinals earned a 40-30 win in the championship duel.
Earlier, Mancelona beat Boyne City 51-16 while Onaway beat Charlevoix 71-6.
The Ironmen had 2-0 finishes from Billy Hartman (103), Tyler Aldrich (135), Ryan O'Dell (140), Cody Christmas (215) and heavyweight Cody Aldrich.
